Salisbury Malayalee Community

Salisbury Malayalee Community introduced South Indian classical dance classes in March 2016. This is a paid service run by our SMC member Mrs Beena Vinny. There are other dance teachers within our community who organizes dances for our events.

Malayelee community celebrates Onam (aka Thiruvnam) each year in Salisbury, UK. Usually Onam is celebrated in the month of August/September depending on the Malayalam calendar month of Chingam, which in Gregorian calendar overlaps August to September. The festival mainly includes our ever loving Onam Sadhya which is purely vegetarian meal served in banana leaf, Pookkklam which is a flower arrangement, Thiruvathira Kali dance done by our lady members., Tug of War as a sport and many more.
